“Warm, thoughtful and quietly assured, ‘This Too Shall Pass’ is a strong introduction to Serge & The Currents and a promising start to this new chapter in Sergio Ercole’s long musical journey.” - Chris Bound

Musically, the track is bright enough to keep that melancholy from becoming heavy. Shuffling drums, acoustic textures and expressive guitar lines give the song an easygoing country-pop feel, while hints of Southwestern and Latin influence add a little more colour around the edges. There's also a distinctly Australian character in the vocal delivery and melodic phrasing, which helps the track avoid sounding overly indebted to its roots influences.

Serge & The Currents is a guitar-driven pop project forged like a live electrical circuit between family and long-time musician friends, fronted by Melbourne guitarist, songwriter, composer and educator Sergio Ercole.

After more than two decades as Head of Guitar and building a global audience through his Latin Guitar Mastery channel, he's stepping into a new chapter as a singer-songwriter, blending classic song craft with modern pop.

Sitting somewhere between Crowded House and Tom Petty, Sergio brings an authentic 'future nostalgia' to his songs, having actually lived through the 70s and 80s — all delivered through the sound of his cherry red Gibson 335 as he tells the musical stories of his life.
